The AIP is a non-profit association that seeks to enhance the professional and technical development of interpretation; encourage the development of training programs for specialists in this field; and encourage the editing of texts and documents related to interpretation.
The work carried out by the association is the result of work commissions that are set up to deal with specific issues, such as Best Practices in Interpretation, Publications, Training / Training and the Annual Interpretation Seminar.
Since 1999, we have published the Interpretation Bulletin, an electronic publication that is currently a reference in this area, written entirely in Spanish. The Bulletin can be obtained from this website.
The AIP proposes the following definition:
The interpretation of heritage is the "art" of revealing in situ the meaning of the natural and cultural legacy to the public that visits these places in their free time.
